Snooker at the Shirley Club
The Shirley Club is the perfect place to enjoy a game of snooker in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Our venue boasts six tables, all of which are of the highest standard, ensuring that our members enjoy the best possible experience. Our snooker room is the envy of many other clubs in the West Midlands. We are proud of our friendly snooker community, which includes multiple teams playing in the Efficiency Snooker League. The room is only available to members and their guests.
Keeping our standard high
Members and their guests are asked respectfully to familiarise themselves with the code of conduct & etiquette in the snooker room. It is important members feel the room is like home, cues are welcome to be stored with us.
Snooker Teams
The club is well represented in the Efficiency League, with several teams in various divisions including the premiership. Only members can join teams, if you would like to speak about joining a team please speak to Mark Lighting or Andy Clarke (Snooker Secretary)
Snooker Coaching

We have our own WPBSA-qualified snooker Coach, Matt Allen, available to help with all areas of your game. Matt will discuss your goals and what you would like from the lessons with you. Matt can teach the basics of holding a cue and setting up your stance, as well as more advanced game strategy.
Matt has been an active member of the Shirley Club since 2010. Matt is a very established player; he won the Birmingham efficiency league singles title in 2023 and currently plays in one of our teams in the Premier division. Matt's snooker coaching is available to both members and non-members. Members get free lights.
